Feel absolutely emotional. I’ve been great had my 5 weeks chemo radiation no problems there. Started folfox Tuesday and last two days feel absolutely emotional. Not anxious, not particularly nauseated, but so emotional I’m trying to continue as normal but I’m just frustrated. I think I maybe feeling fatigued as I feel like I’m in a bubble and maybe that’s what is causing my waves of emotions. I’m a stubborn individual who just wants to continue as normal but just feel lost and frustrated as physically I’m not feeling ill. Sorry more of a rant here than looking for answers.

  • Wow that's good glad you are ok x

  • Simon's nephroscopy drain has come out of his back

Why does he need a chest x ray?

  • I don’t know why the chest xray. My mum had one when she was in hospital after having a stroke and they said it was to check that there was no infection although she didn’t have symptoms of any?! x

  • He has had an ultrasound today

  • Simon is still in hospital had a chest X ray and ultrasound.

How are you hope you are getting sorted and feeling ok.

  • Hi, how is he doing today? Hope all the tests went ok and he is feeling more comfortable? Am not too bad thanks, feeling a bit rough as had chemo on Thursday, but hopefully will turn a corner soon! Hope Simon is feeling a bit brighter today? x

  • He is very tired and we can't get any answers as to why he is having the tests.

I hope the chemo doesn't cause you too many problems and that you feel a bit better soon. Stay positive it's not for ever.

Hope you have the sun there it's lovely here xx

  • Hi Rosie, I think X-rays and ultrasounds are fairly standard when there is suspected infection or fluid build up. The X-ray is I think to make sure there isn’t a an infection/fluid on the lungs - my husband had one when he had infection markers and some fluid build up. It’s just to be safe I think. They also mentioned an ultrasound, however he had a ct instead- again I believe this is just so they can see if there is fluid build up and treat it accordingly. He did have some fluid and in his case they put a drain in and gave him anti biotics to sort it. Try not to worry too much-I know it’s easier said than done but he’s in the best place to help him recover properly. It’s hard to think straight when the doctors do their fly by visits so we found writing the questions down in advance helped. Hope he feels better soon. X

  • Thanks for your reply good to hear others experience. Good idea to write things down.

Hope you're husband is making progress now xx

  • Thank you, the sunshine is beautiful.  Hoping Simon has a more comfortable day today. Take care of yourself too xx
