Hi
It's that time of year again! I had my follow up scan on 3rd January and haven't had the results yet.
I'm starting to panic as I usually hear within a week to 10 days.
I know I'm being overanxious, but I'm starting to worry and imagine the worst.
Friends have had scans at the same hospital recently and got results in a few days
I will ring the hospital at the end of the week if I've heard nothing.
Do they usually ring quickly if there's a problem? Am I just being overanxious?
Hi Drama
In the kindest possible way it is just anxiety talking . My mum had over 65 scans and they could vary on department holidays , department sickness , maternity leave etc . They had absolutely no correlation with the content of the scan . Also different specialities often have a radiologist they work with .
Lots of variable and if the wards are full of people needing lung cts then they come first as they need to get them treated . I think it depends on each areas staffing and how that’s organised . At one point due to a shortage my mums went abroad to get interpreted !
Hope you get them soon . If your Gp shares the same clinical portal they are sometimes will to give you them .
Take care ,

I am also awaiting scan results. I have to actually visit my Dr for results. It was originally scheduled this Wed but had to be pushed a week due to the Dr having a family emergency.
So here I am just worried and hoping it will be good news. Cancer is determined to teach me patience!
We can wait together! Hopefully you will get your results sooner than me.
I think the waiting is the worst thing! Once you know something, then you can deal with it but i tend to think the worst while waiting.
This is my 3rd year follow up and it doesn't get any easier.
I think i panic as my husband died from Rectal cancer some years ago and i know more than i would like to about cancer because of nursing him through it.
I do hope that you get good news. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Sending hugs and best wishes.
Waiting is, by far, the worst. There's nothing constructive for your mind to do so it just takes off like a freight train going down bizarre paths.
News, good or bad, gives you something to focus on and plan for.
I'm sure your results will be good. You are a unique person and you will not follow the same path as your husband.
