My hair is coming out thick and fast at the moment I have a big bald patch on the back of my head noticeable and I was looking at ways to cover it up.the front is getting quite thin aswell everytime j waa it or touch it it drops out,I'm wearing a silk cap at night to try and prevent loss.

I lost my hair whilst on Capox. The lovely staff on the chemo unit gave me a prescription for a wig and told me about local wig shops which would accept it.(i do live in a city so that was easier with more choice)
The lovely ladies in the shop gave me a private appointment and suggested various wigs.In the end I did pay a little extra to get a non nhs one(about £30.00).
All the best
Kath
Ps the nhs ones were perfectly acceptable.it was just me being fussy.
Hi there,
I don't know anything about wigs but annabandana.co.uk do very nice headwear in various styles and snazzy patterns and colours for those who are having chemo or have alopecia. They also do matching PICC line covers (I had snake print and pink stripes). Macmillan have information about help with paying for a wig.
Hi HazG
I had significant hairloss from chemo. Losing hair in each area of body can need different attention. I found the cancer hair care charity a great help: www.cancerhaircare.co.uk . They have group and 1-1 advice covering lots of things from protecting eyes that have eyelash loss, to appearance tips and one of my favorites was getting your wig on correctly to make it look natural!
I also got a free wig on the NHS. My Macmillan info and support centre did the application for me, so all i had to do was just turn up to a nearby wig fitter, try on a few styles and colours, they adjust settings for your head and then you pick. Really was that simple and within an hour of being at the fitter, I was proud owner of a new me.
