Can I have a tooth removed while on chemo ? I have a tooth infection beennon antibiotics for two days but it's going to need sorting out, getting mixed views on the subject.
I'd also highly recommend alerting your 24hr chemo support number. They are likely to want to help manage the highened risk of sepsis.
Tablet antibiotics can need a week or two course to build up effectivity. They may offer you IV antibiotics if infection needs swift action.
Hi ,
My mum is not on fully chemo but it still affects her immune system. She was allowed a broken tooth fix but they gave specific times when it was allowed on her cycle when she was least affected with her immune system and we coordinated that with her dentist to pull it together .
Given you have an infection I think they would guide you when is best .
