Hi everyone
I'm Steph from the Community team
Here is a new thread for carers, family and friends. This is a space for you to chat, share experiences and support each other through issues related to your loved ones bowel cancer. The previous thread will shortly be locked as it was getting rather long which can make it difficult to navigate.
Please remember that we also have other dedicated spaces on the Community for carers, family and friends. These spaces exist so you can support each other away from members of the forum who might be dealing with their own cancer diagnosis:
Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum
You would be welcome to set up another new thread like this in one of the above forums. Please just let us know if you would like any help?
We hope you will continue to find lots of support from each other and the Community. We're here to help, so please do let us know if you have any questions or support needs by emailing us at community@macmillan.org.uk
Hi Jkee
Apparently CEA is just a protein they track not directly attributed to volume of disease . Some people just express a lot . My mum had five liver mets and it was only 7 . She just did not express a lot of it .
Hoping that’s all it is for sure .
Take care ,
Court
Ps Happy Birthday PattyK

Here is something to make you smile as he had worked himself up so much and then would not stand
Morning lovely picture Hugo does the same best time to trim them is after a walk keep a pair of scissors and just feel for knots daily and cut them out they are hard work but make us smile x
Hi jkee in all honestly I did not realise what hard work until Rufus as the chihuahuas had none of this. He was exhausted after Christine started and he resisted. He has been out nearly all day and still not tired. Just means later to brush him and he does not like it one bit. I have a table just need something round his neck to keep him stable. I think Christine is going to show me how to use the clippers xx
Maggie they are a pain Hugo cannot go to groomer he got nasty so it has taken 6 months doing him daily but hate near back end I sometimes find everything too much when you want to sit and puppy has other idea's think he would be outside all day if he could walking but he get's Simon out and as he says if it wasn't for Hugo he wouldn't even get out of bed xx
Jkee he was okay with Christine but not with me. He has been out all day in the garden and full of mud. He had a good brush this morning and I will do him again tomorrow. He also just wants to be out. Do you have a grooming table and trimmers, if so what are they called as I am thinking of getting both xx
Well les had chemo today and feels dreadful. Not what I was expecting. They tweaked it as he was poorly for 4 days but it seems to have started today. How much more can they take. Everyone else seems fine when in the chemo unit. He is getting hot sweats, tummy yucky, headache when bending down. This is his 4th and it does not look good going for ct scan tomorrow as well
Jkee and everyone hope you are coping and sending love xx
Evening Maggie poor Les each cycle is different hope he feels better tomorrow I am surprised he has a CT scan on day 2 hope he will be ok we have pet scan booked for Thursday it's all of Simon's joints that hurt sending you hugs xxx
Hi jkee it is 5.30 in the morning. I hope the pet scan went okay. Sending you both lots of love and everyone else xx
