Hi everyone

I'm Steph from the Community team Slight smile

Here is a new thread for carers, family and friends. This is a space for you to chat, share experiences and support each other through issues related to your loved ones bowel cancer.  The previous thread will shortly be locked as it was getting rather long which can make it difficult to navigate.

Please remember that we also have other dedicated spaces on the Community for carers, family and friends. These spaces exist so you can support each other away from members of the forum who might be dealing with their own cancer diagnosis:

Family and friends forum

Carers only forum

Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum

You would be welcome to set up another new thread like this in one of the above forums. Please just let us know if you would like any help?

We hope you will continue to find lots of support from each other and the Community. We're here to help, so please do let us know if you have any questions or support needs by emailing us at community@macmillan.org.uk

  • Hi Angie. Tooth clearing up. Les had Hickman line out yesterday and starts chemo next Tuesday which I am not looking forward to as I think this one has real bad side effects. Honestly I am dreadingit. Les is pleased as he has been off too long and they are growing. Weather here okay Thumbsup too. Just dreading the after effects but will keep an eye on him. just wish there was someone near to support us but hey ho  I hope bill tolerates the next lot of chemo xx

  • Fingers crossed for Tuesday and hopefully he tolerates the side affects be thinking of you x

  • Thank you angie. I do too but his feet and hands are worse now with the first lot of chemo. I hope bill does not suffer too much with the same neuropathy as it is awful. It has been nice having a couple of weeks off as it life seemed normal but now back to the rollercoaster. I just can’t bear to see him poorly.  Fingers crossed he can cope with it. Sending you and everyone else a huge hug xxx

  • Hi ladies!  How are you all this week? Just scrolling through the forum and saw your posts here. Maggie how is Les bearing up with new chemo regime. Angie8 I don't know you but hi! I still keep in contact with some of the members here. Hope Jkee is bearing up ok too with Simon. Yes weather lovely in Glasgow maybe get that bit of painting done on my decking yet. Sending you all hugs and strength as per. Take Care.

    Vicky x

  • Hi Vicky. Up to now okay but only had one chemo and 8 tablets. We will have to see how the week goes. He did say he feels funny but could not explain it. I am stressed with all the work going on here at the bungalow and les only planting plants and not tidying up the bits or the trees. It is a nightmare. I was not too good yesterday as was worried about him. Sending you and everyone else loads of hugs xx

  • Hi I joined the group over 2 years ago contributed a little in the beginning then stopped,  but I remember your posts and followed your story and your sad loss of jay 2 years ago and the fact that you continue support those of us still on the awful cancer rollercoaster is amazing thank you
