Hi everyone
I'm Steph from the Community team
Here is a new thread for carers, family and friends. This is a space for you to chat, share experiences and support each other through issues related to your loved ones bowel cancer. The previous thread will shortly be locked as it was getting rather long which can make it difficult to navigate.
Please remember that we also have other dedicated spaces on the Community for carers, family and friends. These spaces exist so you can support each other away from members of the forum who might be dealing with their own cancer diagnosis:
Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum
You would be welcome to set up another new thread like this in one of the above forums. Please just let us know if you would like any help?
We hope you will continue to find lots of support from each other and the Community. We're here to help, so please do let us know if you have any questions or support needs by emailing us at community@macmillan.org.uk
Les did ask but the surgeon did not know anything about it. Shea’s going took into it. I am just just full of cold with stress and anxiety xx
Hi all. I haven’t been on for a while; my dad has been in and out of hospital so things have been pretty chaotic. He’s been taken in again today and I fear that this is it. Thought I would come on here in the hope that someone has some more positive and uplifting news to share. How is everyone? Sending love x
Unfortunately Matt no news as yet. We are supposed to get something this morning from the meeting but we will wait and see. I really hope your dad is comfortable and we will be all thinking of you at this time. It is sad we can’t all meet up but hey ho we have each other on here withe the same roundabouts that never stops. Sending love and hugs to you xx
Fingers and toes crossed for you that you get some good news back from the meeting today. Look after yourself, I imagine you are extremely anxious and my heart goes out to you.
Thinking of everyone else on here too xx
Sorry to read this this morning MGSH Maggie RNE Scarlet Helen and Vicky sorry if I missed anyone we had the team meeting yesterday they removed the 2 cancers all out the other 2 were clear they need to give him chemo which last time attacked his heart so hopefully they will find a alternative. So a few months ago we had a few months to live now we have been given a chance at life again 11 cancers in still here 1 day at a time is how we do it don't look past today. This was a secondary Cancer from the bowel . Hope Maggie gets the news she wants and you all keep kicking the Cancer until it wins xx
I hope you get positive news this morning, Maggie. The doctors confirmed this morning that my dad now has kidney failure. There’s nothing they can do other than to try to make him comfortable. They want to talk to us about a DNR order. I was waiting it out down south as I’ve been up quite a lot lately and last week we thought it was an infection that could be treated with antibiotics. On way up now x x
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
