Hi all, thank you for accepting me. My husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. At present I am not accepting it, it makes me feel sick, panicky, shaky etc. it was a complete shock. Anybody else in the same situation. Many thanks
Hi Court,
Thank you so much. So far he has minimal side effects from chemo, the oncologist said his tumour markers have dropped..one to a tenth of what it was and one to a sixth..he has a scan tomorrow to see what's happening. Today is chemo number 4!
I hope you are doing well also

Hi Ladies!
You may have read my post today. I am still trying to process things. I know it's something you ladies may not like to read about but I just feel so flat and numb. I am now feeling that all the tests, scans, surgery and chemo have all gone for nothing. It is more the sepsis they are worrying about. They are concentrating on his infection and blood pressure. The blood pressure is stable and he is getting an antibiotic drip. His blood pressure is sitting between the 80's and 90's for the top reading and 40's 50's for the bottom reading. Still a bit low they reckon but an improvement from last night so they are not really that concerned. Jay was looking slightly better today too he actually looked as though he had a bit of colour about his cheeks whereas last night he was like a pale magnolia. He says he feels neither up nor down about it and is accepting what is happening. The doctor has told us he is not trying to frighten us but he feels he needs to put us in the picture as to what is going on in the event of his condition worsening. They can't give a definite prognosis as he says they don't have a crystal ball and just don't know how long someone will last. How long is a piece of string? he could last months or another couple of years. Just so unfair.
My thoughts are with you both. As you say no one knows. It is extremely unfair. I will send you a virtual hug and my love. Maggie xx
Thanks Ladies!
Been on the phone to hospital. Wee nurse was able to tell me that they think they will be turning down his blood pressure meds whatever that is. I take it it means reducing the dosage because his BP is stabalising on it's own and she was saying she was just going in to give him his antibiotics. Wee bit positive news but still not what I wanted to hear today. The nurse said if I'm lying awake in the early hours and wants to find out how he is just to phone as there will always be someone there to take the call.
I'm sorry to hear this, sending hugs and as Torry said, if you are awake and want to call then do so xx I wish there was something more I could say and do x
A little bit more positive this morning ladies re my recent post on `Updates on Jay` if you want to go and read it. Just trying to be as pro-active as possible to get me through it. Take Care.
xx
