T4 tumour was removed with emergency surgery. I have been told there is no cure only control and I have been given 2 years with chemotherapy. This is the 4th cancer I have had and I seem remarkably calm and upbeat. Although flippancy and Black humour is a go to 'coping' strategy. 3rd cycle of chemo approaching and so far side effects have been kind.
Hi Saddlediva and a warm welcome to the board. I too like the flippancy and black humour coping strategy although it is nice to occasionally have an offload to those who understand? It’s good to hear that you’re coping well with the chemo and there’s lots of people on the Bowel Cancer UK board particularly who have passed 5,6,7 years living with incurable cancer. It’s hard to be given a timescale but medical trials and treatments are advancing all the time and who knows what will become available over the next 2 years?
Hope the chemo continues to be kind to you
Take care
