I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 10 years ago. I had chemo then radiotherapy finally the op to remove the tumour had a stoma for 10 months then the reversal .After all this my bowels were very unpredictable but for the last year they only work if I take large doses of a laxative I have plenty of fibre exercise and drink plenty of fluids .Does anyone else experience this ?
Hi
Your name sounds familiar! Did you post here years ago ? My mum is twelve years as a stage 4 patient ! Her bowels have actually worked quite well so I am no use to you on that front but just wanted to say “ Hi” . Other complications have come with surgery for her over the years but not that particular one .
I hope someone else can assist !
Take care ,

Hi . I don’t have the same problem I’m afraid - I take loperamide - but I’ve attached a booklet from the bowel cancer uk to see if there’s anything that might help? My friend swears by a glass of prune juice in the morning (that’s her in the booklet actually!)
