I had my pump removed sat afternoon and today I start the injections to help with immunity does anyone else take them I’ve heard they are not very nice but is anything chemo related nice Shrug

I think I’m through the worse of nausea Fingers crossed going to sort my plant pots out today and enjoy the sun Sunny️

  • Hi . No I didn’t have these but had to give myself blood thinning injections after my op. I hate needles but didn’t feel it worth a community nurse coming out every day to do a 5 second jab so used to refuse to let myself have my dinner until I’d done it!

Glad to hear the nauseas subsiding. I split my aloe Vera plant into 3 smaller pots yesterday and put the nasturtiums that my granddaughter has planted outside for the afternoon to start to acclimatise. They are looking a bit leggy but I darent plant them out yet especially as my friend has told me that the frost killed all her newly planted bedding plants last week.

Fingers crossed you continue to manage the chemo well

    Take care

  • Hi HazG

Hope you’re through the nausea now and able to enjoy the warmer weather.

I’m on Folfox (hospital for ½ day for infusions then sent home with 5FU pump for 48 hours).  I have injections afterwards similar to yourself mine are Filgrastin for 5 days, to help treat low neutrophil count.  I’ve been told not to use it (injection) straight from fridge as will be more painful and to give it as I’m about to go to bed, then get into bed & keep warm as bones might hurt

So, I take the injection out of fridge about ½ hour before giving it.  I get ready for bed with a couple of hot water bottles then inject and get nice and cosy in bed.  This seems to work for me, I’ve only occasionally had mild aching bones during the day a couple of days after starting injections, which I’ve treated by using hot water bottles again - they're a godsend!

    Hope that helps.

Best Wishes, & look after yourself

  • Hi, I have Filgrastim injections in between treatments, only for 3 Days and they don't affect me at all, can't say I've noticed and aches and pains, hopefully you will be the same.

    Best wishes
