So,mums got her appointment with the oncologist tomorrow and I've been having panics about it but when I've spoken to her I'm all smiles and it'll be ok's.shes in her 5th year after right hemicolectomy with no further  treatment but recently had a surge in her cea marker, went for a ct scan which showed nothing, last years colonoscopy showed nothing but shes anaemic with blood present in her stool.she also had endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer back in 2005,shes has lynch syndrome.the waiting is horrendous and I'm terrified about what they are gonna say,I just really don't know what to do.

  • Hi vine,

Good luck for your mum today.
A very anxious time for you... If this whole thing has taught me anything it is to take each moment as it comes & try not to predict or worry about the future Raised hands

Will be thinking of you & your luck today,

    Suzy

  • Thinking of you both . I know exactly what you mean . Game face on in front of your relative and teeth firmly clenched to hold it all in .
Hope everything goes ok for her .

  • Hey court, hope you and mum are well,so the consultant said mum's cea markers were at 8 then dropped to 6 so she's not too worried, she's not worried about the anaemia or blood in stool, its a case of more bloods next month and another ct scan so fingers crossed the cea will drop further, its the waiting that gets everyone I think, its such a stressful time cos your thoughts run away with you don't they xx

  • Someone once said ceas spike and your anxiety spikes with it .

My mum’s CEA s have bounced around for a few years . They go up a few points , breach the blood panels then drop again . We are all braced for impact then the Scans have been normal !

Only started in the last few years !! Hope all is good with your mum . Dropping back down a few points is encouraging too!

My mum is fine thanks , like yours she has been through a lot but still enjoying herself .

I keep thinking one day there will be a super fast track system to take away the waiting . Not seen too much evidence of that so far !
Send our love to your mum and hope you feel a bit more reassured too.

    Take care ,
