Hi Everyone.

I’m looking for a bit of advice. I suffer with GERD, diagnosed 6 years ago after scope. Reflux these days is limited due to a more healthy lifestyle. However, I’m on a 4 week course of antibiotics and since last week I’ve suffered from terrible bloating, excess wind and abdominal discomfort. Doctor seems to think this is linked with the antibiotics. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced anyone similar?

Hi . I’ve had antibiotics a long time ago that caused a shooting pain in my stomach and had to reduce the doseage. As I’m sure you can see from the paper inside, there will be lots of side effects and they may well be magnified by your GERD condition. If these new feelings have come on since starting the antibiotics then it sounds likely that they are linked.

If it becomes unbearable then you may have to discuss this with your doctor but hopefully things will go back to normal once the course is finished
