Hi. Has anyone else experienced this? Discharged home yesterday four nights after a right hemicolectomy. Tramadol had made me really sick which was awful as I REALLY did not to vomit. OK yesterday but I think I perhaps overate today and have been feeling sick and trying to be sick since about 3pm but there is nothing coming up so I think it is just wind - nothing too violent. Have taken doses of anti-sickness. I am so very very tired but hate having to sleep on my back and trying to prop up with pillows is not going well. Sorry if I sound a bit of a wimp! Any ideas?
Hi
I think tramadol is an opiate so can make you really nauseous. My mum is sensitive to opiates so we have to watch her pain meds but her GP quickly got that all sorted . If you are struggling give them a phone .
We also got a cheap backrest to help with positioning for the first few nights . I guess it is a bit individual but it seemed more supportive than pillows . But my mum did not have a stoma to factor in .
Hope it improves for you tomorrow.

Hi. Sorry to hear that you’re struggling. The painkillers can cause nausea so you could maybe try just paracetamol? The Bowel is a bit if a diva and does not like being manhandled which can cause ileus which is vomiting but should be starting to settle down by now. If you’re still struggling then maybe ring the ward that you were on to run it past them and make sure it’s not a bit of an infection?
Hope you start to feel better soon

I have had to stop in few years taking any anti sickness tablets as they really made me sleep a lot and any strong painkillers would bound me up after having stoma and temporary pouch - tramadol
very strong and you might be sensitive to it - I would still have terrible wind and cramps if I eat anything gassy or can’t digest it properly I take peppermint for it - I try not to take any painkillers just unsettles me but you could start on a low dose frequently I know it hard but I tested keeling walking even a few steps after my last time in hosp
