I am 4 weeks post surgery for the removal of sigmoid colon and 39 lymph nodes.
I find it difficulty sleeping at night...i have what feels like nerve pain and a lot of sensitivity around the incision site.
Has anyone experienced this feeling and does anyone know how long it will take to settle.

Hello and welcome .
I am sorry to hear about your daughter not being able to sleep . Some people do report post op pain but we always advise people to get in touch with their team to exclude infections but also to get on top of the pain .
We also have a helpline number 0808 808 0000 who would be more than happy to guide you through this aspect . My own rule of thumb is to err on the side of caution . At least that way she will have not only reassurance but a little help with the pain .
Great to hear she is safely through surgery though and it sounds as though she has a good team there !
Take care ,

Morning Jackie
I had similar symptoms following surgery, something I can only compare to severe sunburn. It does fade but nerves are slow growing to repair. My wife, a Dr, told me it's a frequent post-op symptom, particularly in women who have had a c-section. It will go!!
