Hello️

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been back on here. In that time, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be able to get on with living life to the fullest — going on holidays, making memories and enjoying precious moments with my husband and our sons. Heart

I first joined this group back in 2020, when my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I remember how frightening and overwhelming those early days were. We had so many ups and downs, moments of hope and moments when we didn’t know what the future would hold.

Today, I came back here because I wanted to share something that I hope might give someone else a little bit of hope. Heart

Today, after 5 years NED (no evidence of disease), my husband has officially been discharged from oncology. TadaSobHeart

Five years ago, I never could have imagined that we would be standing here today. There were times when we were terrified of what the future might bring, but we kept going, one day at a time.

We’ve been so incredibly lucky to have had these years together — watching our boys grow, going on holidays, making memories and simply enjoying life. Heart

I know everyone’s journey is different, and I would never want to give anyone false hope. But I wanted to share our story because when you’re in the darkest moments, sometimes you just need to hear that good things can happen too.

To everyone currently going through treatment, waiting for scan results, living with stage 4 or supporting someone you love — I’m sending you so much love and strength. Heart

Keep going. Take it one day at a time. And hold on to hope. Heart

Today is a day we will never forget. Heart

Best wishes

  • Hello

Thank you for taking the time to come back here and let us know your amazing news! How wonderful and it's so encouraging for all of us earlier on in this journey. I often wonder how patients have got on some years later. Congratulations!

  • Great, I’m currently categorised as stage 3, although just started test on my lungs due to unfavourable monitoring results; your news demonstrates realistic hope should I receive news of spread. Always good to hear positive outcomes, thank you.

  • Oh I remember those early days well .

Just delighted to see this positive outcome .

You have made my day ,
