Liver met options

I had a liver met about the same size. I had to have chemo first but that was to reduce the size of my primary cancer. Once the chemo was done I had liver ablation (thermal-basically it's an injection of microwaves into the tumour) it was great, just i pin prick scar and after 24hrs, the pain was managed just with paracetamol. Hopefully this will be an option for you.

The Leeds team is a centre of excellence for the liver. They will take good care of him.

It’s amazing what they can do now . Initially my mum

have four wedge resections to remove 5 mets . That was not enough and they sent her to our nearest centre of excellence and they were able to remove 73% of her liver as she had a further five mets . It regenerated and functioned well and she never had any more issues with her liver . She lived until she was 82 and had the bigger surgery at 69 .

Lots use radio frequency ablation now for smaller spreads .

That's good to know thank you. We'll hopefully know something after MDT on friday. 

Just to update we have a surgical appointment at Leeds on 14th September.  Two more weeks to wait.

It does feel a long time but absolutely nothing we can do. Hope you hear soon bloody bank holiday isn't it!?!
