CT scan with contrast six months post rectal cancer removal surgery. After cea marker result of 3.8 non smoker.
Previous anterior section. Satisfactory appearances to the colorectal anastomosis. No definite local recurrence. RIGHT iliac fossa defunctioning ileostomy with non-obstructing parastomal hernia. Residual large and small bowel is normal. No omental or peritoneal nodularity
Segment 4A a 13 mm hypodensity is noted, previously measured approximately 9 mm (5.303). Numerous, unchanged benign appearing splenic lesions/hamartoma. Remainder of the abdominopelvic viscera are normal. No lymphadenopathy. No coeliac axis or SMA stenosis.. No thoracic lymphadenopathy. RIGHT lower lobe intrapulmonary lymph node measuring approximately 4 mm. No suspicious focal lung nodule or mass. No destructive bone lesion. RIGHT total hip replacement.
Conclusion:
Subtle segment 4a liver lesion, subjectively slightly larger than previous study uncertain significance may reflect focal fat. An MRI liver is advised. Otherwise no cause for rising CEA identified.
This is a copy if a CT scan report I was sent. Now panicking has it come back as secondary? Had Cea marker blood test on 17th June. Will it never end,?
