Hi. I’m recently diagnosed with rectal cancer. Luckily it’s stage 1 and I have been told it’s amenable for a TAMIS operation (and regular scans thereafter for 5 years). But I need to wait until mid Sept for the op. In the meantime they are monitoring the tumour. I had another MRI last week and am due a CT scan in a few days. But I’m still worried that things could progress to Stage II while I’m waiting. Any advice? And anyone had a TAMIS with no recurrence. I’m keen to know what the future might hold…as if it comes back then I guess I will have to go the stoma route.
