Colonoscopies

I am scheduled to have a Colonoscopy next week - which will be my third.

My first was prior to my diagnosis of Bowel Cancer in 2019, & I opted for sedation; which was a very short examination, as the camera couldn't go pass the mass in my Colon, & so, it was a painless procedure.

My next one was one year after my diagnosis, & I chose gas & air, as I wanted to drive myself there & back. I found that quite a painful procedure.

I don't intend on sedation next week, but this thought came into my mind - 'Are Colonoscopies more painful for skinny people?' & so I googled it.

& according to AI they are - according to clinical evidence.

TBH - I wish I hadn't asked!

  • Oh no, I am awaiting an appointment for a colonoscopy and am on the skinny side.I have no one to collect me so sedation is outGrimacing

    Wishing us both well

  • Please don't  let me put you off! I just used the gas & air last time, & swore a lot. The team were all females - about 6 in total, & I think they all enjoyed the process. I blame it on the Entinox! Yet also, AI is never accurate! x
