So after 5 weeks of chemoriadiation and 10 weeks of letting it do its job the day came for my first check up under full anaesthetic.
Before I was put under, the consultant said that he would not be taking a biopsie as the area would still be inflamed and there was next to no chance of anything reocurring. By the way I was stage 2 and had a tumour also removed in my lower rectum in January.
Also my mri and ct scans which was done before the checkup but hasn't come through yet.
Anyway when I woke up I was told that they removed a polyp from my higher colon and that he did actually take a biopsie.
I wasn't given details of where the biopsy was taken either at the new polyp site or where my rectum has just been treated.
The consultant is now away for 3 weeks so it will probably be 4 weeks before I find anything out.
Wondering why they didnt find this polyp when they did the first thorough colostomy last October, seems unusual. The first 2 colostomys, i was given a full report after, but not this time.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar to this
