Its me again the self pitying dimwit! Husbands first chemo on Wednesday I am going to be all day in the hospital car park. It is going to be hot.
There doesnt appear to be any help or information available for 'duty drivers' or partners.
Too far to go home and back again (hour each way), no patient transport and we can't afford a taxi.
This is going to be my life from now on.
As a bit of light relief I did a bathroom protocol yesterday and stuck it to the window cill over the loo. It included flush twice, clean after yourself, use your own towels.
Is there anything else I need to think of?
Hi FiveO ,
My Dad drives me and he comes in with me. I'm not sure if that's normal or not but in both of the hospitals I go to one person can come in and sit with you (and they have air-con).
There's even people who bring around drinks.
it might be worth asking the question? If not maybe there are local coffee shops/parks that you can have a wander/sit in?
I hope it goes well!

When I had chemo my husband drove and also came in with me.they even gave the partners or friends tea and biscuits when it came round.he didnt get the soup and sandwiches at lunch tho but he could pop to the hospital canteen.maybe you will find similar arrangements.
Kath.
Ps do tell him to wear easy access clothing for loo visits when attached to a drip.
