My husband is currently receiving folfiri and Avastin. He has had the 3rd round and has had the most horrendous stomach cramps.
has anyone else suffered this and manage to control them and carry on with treatment or is this likely to get worse. thank you
Hi Tcd
I am sorry that you have not yet had a reply to your post, but sometimes it can just take a little longer for someone with the same experiences to see it and offer support.
I am sorry to hear that your husband is having awful stomach cramps. My own cancer was endometrial and I had a different kind of chemotherapy drug but many seem to cause stomach issues.
I recommend that he gives his hospital 24 hour line a call and get some support for this. It sounds really uncomfortable for him. During my own chemo I called the hospital several times and they were often able to sort medication to help. If he does he could ask whether buscopan could be useful. I was prescribed it for my own stomach cramps (along with some other meds) and it did help.
I hope that it settles soon for him and do please get in touch if there is anything else you need.
Jane
