Hello everyone! My husband is due to start capecitabine tablets and daily radiotherapy for 5 weeks and just wondering if anyone can recommend things to have ready such as unperfumed soap/shower gels, own flannels, gloves to deal with bodily fluids…We have the anti-diarrhoea and anti-sickness tablets as well as the skin barrier cream but wondering if anything else might be good to have to hand. I’m probably being a bit overly concerned but would rather be prepared!
Thank you in advance.

  • Hi.  I'm following this.  My husband is startingpre op chemo on Wednesday, bowel cancer spread to lungs, and am wondering exactly the same.  The anti-sickness pills you mentioned were they off the shelf or prescribed?  Naively I assumed the latter.

Keep safe and look after yourself as I am trying to do although it is hard.

  • Hi there. He was prescribed anti sickness and anti diarrhoea tablets alongside his Capecitabane and given a barrier cream by the radiotherapy nurse.
Look after yourself, one day at a time.
