Hello again
I’ve just been told that my bowel cancer has reoccurred and is in 2 nodules in the abdomen area. I need a PET scan to determine next steps.
I have lynch and the CNS seemed to think that immune therapy could be an option but they won’t know until they have looked more closely.
This is so hard isn’t it ? I love life and just can’t believe this happening again. Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Thank you for helping me

Hi Blacklitter
I am sorry to hear that you have had a recurrence of your bowel cancer.
When there is a recurrence it is normal to have a scan so that they can determine exactly where the cancer is and to determine the best way to treat it. I know that it is hard to wait to find out and things can feel a bit in limbo but it does sound positive that your CNS feels immunotherapy may be an option.
Cancer is hard and I think most of us understand the fears and frustration where there has been treatment for cancer and it recurs. My own cancer was endometrial and I did ask about recurrences and how they might be dealt with. I was told it would always be a scan first and then they come up with a plan.
I am sorry that this is happening to you again and I hope that the scan can be done quickly to bring clarification about treatment. In the meantime, do give the Support Line a call if it would help to talk things through.
Jane
Hi Blacklitter Christine
I’m sorry you haven’t yet had a reply from someone with experience of this as I remember directing you here, and see you’ve made other posts in different groups which haven’t yet had an answer.
I’m going to tag court who might be able to help. You can also use the search bar (magnifying glass at the top right of the page) to type “lynch syndrome” to find previous mentions of it in the bowel group. It has definitely come up in the group before.
It’s really difficult facing a recurrence-I had this with my own cancer so understand how it feels. However, I hope that once you have your petscan results, a treatment plan can be decided for you.

Thank you Jane.
I will keep you posted. I feel really well and it’s hard to believe it’s happening again.
