After multiple problems, I got my first ctDNA test results. It is 401. This strikes me as high since I'd heard that not everyone has detectable results but l really have no idea.

Does anyone know how to interpret these results?

My cancer is back but I'm trying to assess if this might indicate it is metastisized or likely to metastisize or what it might mean for my prognosis.

  • Hi

I’ve seen your updated profile, and am so sorry to read where you find yourself now after everything you’ve already endured. It’s been a while since we’ve chatted, so it’s been a shock to read how quickly things have progressed in the time since your TPE.

I don’t have the answer to your question, and I’m not sure if others have got any experience in the group of this particular type of biopsy. Has the result not been discussed with you yet, or are you scheduled to see your doctors soon?

I’m sure you will be reeling with the speed of everything and it seems so cruel after getting through the TPE. I’ll be holding you in my thoughts.

  • Thank you Sarah. I am reeling. It's very difficult to process all that's happened and I'm a bit scattered. I hope to see my oncologist on the 13th and to get a few answers then. However there is so much going on that I fear we won't get to everything so I'm trying to get a few answers out of the way first. I had a conversation on here with a couple people  getting this testing a while back and hoped they would see this and tell me how their results have played out. It was a long shot.

While I have the opportunity l want to tell you how much I appreciate your support and friendship throughout. You made a difference.

  • I really hope that others who have had this type of testing will see your post and answer. I can understand you wanting to be ready for your appointment next week with any information you can get.

I’ve so appreciated our conversations in the past-it can be difficult to find others who have gone through a TPE and the aftermath of recovery, but sharing that bond is really quite a lifeline in a stormy sea. I’m very glad we connected and have been able to support each other. Take care, and I’ll be waiting to hear when you have an update or more information.
