Hi been diagnosed with rectum cancer that has spread to liver. Got to have 3 months chemotherapy for my liver then surgery for my bowel. I see oncologist this week to plan my schedule, but I haven't been told what stage my cancer is by my cancer nurse is that normal, feel like I am pestering them if I phone them.
Hi Stevie63 and a warm welcome to the board. If you want to know your staging then you could ask your oncologist at your meeting - it may be that it just hasn’t been mentioned at previous meetings or that your consultant isn’t concerned with putting a staging on things? Sometimes people get hung up on the staging which may well change as your treatment progresses. It’s also tempting to google things relating to a staging which is never a good idea as the information/advice can be out of date and generic whereas you are an individual not a statistic and a personal treatment plan has been decided on for you.
Ive attached a link to a page about staging but try not to get too hung up on it and focus on getting in the best place possible for your chemo

Hope the chemo goes well
