Liver failure any hope?

My husband had 4 sessions of folfori and cetuximab and it hasn’t worked at all, CEA markers where rising but they wouldn’t make the call. He’s also had pneumonia since last year and no one has addressed this. He was taken to hospital last week and we were told by an A&E doctor to go to the hospice.
I am distraught.

His liver enzymes are through the roof and he has shocking water retention in his stomach and legs. I am pushing for stents to relieve this.

We have been left with no one as our oncology team is elsewhere and we were due to go with a new oncologist. I have read folfox is not metabolised by the liver and has worked for some with very compromised livers and was wondering if this has helped anyone?

You say that you have been

but I'd strongly recommend that you contact them if you don't yet have access to your new oncologist.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
