Side effects of Radiotherapy

Hi, new to this group but pleased to be part of it. I finished a 5 day course of radiotherapy for rectal tumour 6 weeks ago but still very sore in my anal region. I was prescribed Flamigel RT by my GP but not sure how long I should carry on using it? I keep trying different creams, E45, Sudocrem but not sure which is best. Is it normal to still be sore 6 weeks later? Any suggestions would be welcome!

Hi, my symptoms peaked 2/3 weeks after 5 day radiotherapy for upper rectal cancer finished… I contacted the radiotherapy team & they gave me some meds to use. Hope you get some relief soon!

Hi MaggieS I did as AlbaH said. Contact the Radiotherapy Nurse. They will know exactly what you need. Good luck

Thanks, I contacted the radiotherapy nurse a few weeks ago, they suggested sudocrem! I will contact my colorectal nurse if it doesn’t improve.
