Hi everyone
I’m on chemo number 2 out of 6 for bowel cancer with liver mets (currently inoperable). Last treatment in January. Just wondered if anyone has been on a similar journey and what happened next for them after their initial treatment? Xx
Hello Ann. I'm a little further ahead of you. Number 5 of 6 tomorrow, then Number 6 around 17th Dec. Then they'll do a scan. Blood results show that the chemo has helped.
Originally bowel cancer, removed by surgery but the cancer then spread. Now on palliative chemo.
I hope this has helped a little bit x
Thank you Den, that’s great, I’m hoping to get some feedback about my bloods this week (just had round 3 today). I’m already worrying about what the scans will say in the new year but trying to let that go and focus on the here and now. Hope you’ve had a good day x A
Good morning Anne.
That's a good plan to focus on the here and now. There's enough to think about now. I've got round 5 today
If you click on my user name you can see how my mum ‘s team handled her liver spread . It took around two years to get complete stability and surgery but after that she lived for 15 years in total and her liver regenerated and functioned well .
The first couple of years were the most challenging in terms of treatment and anxiety but it was worth it .
Take care ,

How are you getting on Den? Do you mind me asking if you suffered any hair loss? Mines thinned so much Ive just had a pixie cut, always had long thick hair so it’s quite a shock- but feels very empowering lol
This is fantastic thank you I’ll have a look xxxx
Hello again Ann.
Just had round 5. I had an infection somewhere but it sorted it's self out. Yes my hair has been thinning. Same as you my hair was long. When it started to look obvious I cut it to shoulder length.
On the hair loss - I don’t know if you’re on FOLFOX? I had 10 cycles and lost about half of my hair, it was long but I cut it to shoulder length. It’s been looking a bit sparse but I finished chemo in August and I’ve probably got about an inch of regrowth. The regrowth has really lifted the roots and makes it all look a lot thicker. Hope this reassures you it’ll grow back
Lee x
