Hi all, I had emergency colon surgery 3 weeks ago with a day's notice so it's been a bit of shock. Doctor said they will contact me about any follow up appointment and treatment after the biopsy of the tumour and the surrounding lymph nodes taken out. I haven't been assigned any CNS and not sure whether I should contact anyone to chase up. Of course I would like to know what the plan is even if it doesn't start immediately, otherwise I am feeling like I'm in a limbo without any support. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
Hi,
my biopsy took about 5 weeks to come back. My follow up was six weeks after the operation.
However I would definitely call to get details of your care team as they can answer queries or any worries you have.
they may not know about follow up care until the biopsy is back.
good luck with your recovery!

Thanks that's reassuring to hear. I don't really have a care team, I have the number of a hot clinic for queries related to the surgery. I am a bit apprehensive to call them as they were not helpful even though I called them about my recovery from surgery. There's another number for the surgery team, may be I'll try them again on Monday as they weren't picking up on Friday.
Yes give that a try again, if that fails you could try to find out if the hospital has a PALS service and get in touch with them for help finding out who to contact. I hope you get hold of them today!
