Liver spot a year after bowel cancer surgery

My husband had stage 3 bowel cancel in the sigmoid colon diagnosed last May 24. He had a 10 hour surgery in October to remove the cancer and satellite tumours and then 6 rounds of Folfox which finished in February this year. He’s just had his yearly surveillance. Colonoscopy normal but CT scan shows a small spot on liver that they don’t know what it is so he needs an MRI. I’m now worried that it’s spread to his liver and so becomes stage 4.
mum not sure how he will cope with further surgery and chemo if it is cancer.

  • Hi  Please wait until he’s had his MRI before assuming that it’s cancerous. The liver can have little harmless cysts in it called haemangiomas and it maybe be something like this that was missed on a previous scan or already confirmed as harmless but not noted?

Try to stay calm until you have the full picture and all the facts in place then take it from there?

    Take care
