Hi Everyone.
Has anyone had a reoccurance in the right side of their Pelvic area, (this is all I know until MRI Scan result)?
A Radiologist phoned today and explained that my Wife's Liver is still clear after all metastases had been removed in the past. That's just over a year with a clean Liver.
However she was also informed that two Area's of concern have been flagged up by a PET Scan. One area for concern has been confirmed as a reoccurance in both Lungs. 2 metastases each Lung, and a hot spot in her right Pelvic area which is to be confirmed by an MRI result soon.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
Apparently only one Lung at a time can be treated with Ablation or Resection due to a possible collapsed Lung during any treatment.
The Radiologist also explained that her Pelvic area Hot Spot was more of a concern.
She's in good health at the moment, very symptomless.
Hi Gunfitter400
I am sure Star74 had a pelvic recurrence . Just tagged her in .
My mum’s surgeon told us that lung mets can be notoriously slow growing . My mum had a spread in 2016 to her lung , had surgery and was home two days later . By far the easiest part of the whole process . Marianne26 has had ablation so you might find contrasting this approach helpful . I should say my
mum had vats surgery . Not open surgery which helped considerably .
Send her our love and lots of strength to knock this all back down .

Hi Gunfitter400 ,
Thanks court , yes I had a pelvic reoccurrence. I had a pelvic extenteration and then several months later a reoccurrence in the pelvic area. I had a second operation but unfortunately it came back (although i personally think they didn't get it all). Another major op was not an option at that time so I went back on chemo. Ive been on maintenance chemo for nearly 2 years now and there are no visible signs of cancer.
As Court says, the lung mets are notoriously slow growing. Hopefully they'll come up with a good plan for the pelvis. Great news that the liver is still clear, mine is too after 4 years.
All the best,
Michelle
