Recent stage 4 recurrent bowel cancer diagnosis

Hi, my partner was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer.  He was stage 3, had a tumour removed and underwent 6 months capox.  He got a scan in March and finished treatment in may, the scan was clear.  At his next scan start of September it showed enlarged lymph nodes and a PET scan confirmed more sites impacted.  He is now on chemo and cetuximab for 6 cycles and a CT scan to see if the cancer responds.  It's a living hell, I can't stop thinking about it and wake up on the middle of the night worrying about what will happen.  I know I should take it one day at a time but I struggle with this.  He is only 38 and it's just so much to process and try to comprehend.  I'm struggling to remain positive.  Any words of advice or similar positive stories would be appreciated.  Love to you all going through this nightmare xx

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your partner's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
