Hi Folks
has anyone had a seriously bloated stomach on chemo? I’m on Follfiri for secondary cancer and the bloating isn’t reducing. It’s not painful but quite annoying .
Also on steroids as well for bone pain management. Could that be thee cause?
any thoughts welcome, thanks
Graham
It’s worth mentioning to your team . If it’s fluid they can sometimes address that with diuretics or drain some off .
But one to mention to your team . Always good to get ahead of it .
Hope treatment is going well .

Hi Graham
I just started FOLFIRI Wednesday 1 October so I will keep you posted if I feel bloated. Just feeling incredibly tired and not able to sleep because of the steroids! I am on 6 cycles every two weeks. I have bowel cancer with liver mets which is why I was started on chemo in the hope they can operate after. Not sure how long you will be on chemo for but good to talk to someone going through same treatment perhaps we can compare side effects? Take care and good luck to you
Hi Bella
I am currently having this treatment and about to have my fifth cycle next week. I am not sure what your husband's exact treatment is but I am in hospital for 6 hours as I have 2 chemo treatments in hospital and then they send me home with a pump for 46 hours. Is this the same for your husband? They give you steroids for anti-sickness which keep you awake at night but generally although tired I am able to get up and take a walk and do jobs around the house. I don't know if this is of any help or whether you want any further information about side effects but please feel free to contact me. Good luck!
Hi Millie555051712 ,
Thank you for your message. He’s a little apprehensive as it all starts this week PICC line in tomorrow.
what were your side effects? He only had a few with the CAPOX so we are hoping for the same. Did you loose your hair ? How quickly once treatment was underway
many thanks B x
