Stopping Oxaliplatin

I would like to ask if anyone who was on (CAPOX) Oxaliplatin and Capecetabine stopped the Oxaliplatin due to side effects and continued on the tablets only. I was supposed to have 4 cycles but stopped the Oxaliplatin after 2. I have been told I may need another 3 months of tablets. Grateful for any advice on this.

My oxi was stopped on the last round because of my loosing all my hair.they doubled the cap dose for that round.I am pleased to tell you that I am coming up to my 6 yr anniversary this week with ned.

Did your hair grow back and how long did it take? I’ve lost a lot and still have 4 more cycles (of 12) to complete.

Yes it did grow back slowly.sorry cant remember the exact time frame but I expect everyone is different and will depend on how much you have lost.

Yes it is a bit of a shock especially when you are told initially it might just thin a bit.you can get a wig on prescription.some good ones available although I paid a little extra to get the one I wanted.all I can say is I lost all of mine and it did grow back..hang in there
