Well round 2 of Oxaliplatin and capecitabine starts today. Due to side effects last round, I'm having 75% reduction. Hopefully this is better. Don't want anymore hospital stays thanks. Really messed me up and my regime.

Hope you all have a good day Smiley

  • Hope this went better for you. ((Hugs))

  • Thank you, slightly worse slightly better! Neuropathy on canula site kicked in almost immediately ,so used heat pad but after 30 mins I couldn't feel my hand at all, so they resited canula in arm on other side. Worked like a dream! Still can't feel other hand yet! A work in progress! X

  • Hi  I had similar issues with the iv arm - felt like I’d been beaten with stinging nettles for several days after - and I then had a pic line fitted? Might be worth suggesting if you’re having several sessions and they can fit one reasonably quickly?

  • Its foul isn't, not sure if they'll do that, only have 2 sessions left. X

  • Yes it was the worse side effect for me. I was nearly in tears when they peeled the tape off and wore a pop sock with the toes cut off over my arm for days as I couldn’t stand anything touching it!Frowning2As you say, they probably won’t if you’re just having 4 - my chemo was back in 2017 before they discovered that 3 months worth was just as effective as 6 so I was down for 9 sessions Frowning2️ I found that a heat pad/ warm wheat bag helped a little x

  • Oh they use some special gel that they put on the tape before peeling, it kind of disintegrate the adhesive on the tape, much better. I used the heat pad during g the session but didn't help at all. I may try a wheat bag at home,  I have one somewhere..  x
