I had operation to remove Colon cancer Jan 24 lost 8 inches of my left colon-it came to attention by sending in a poo sample-and colonoscopy-all went well 5 days in Hospital-did not feel great in July as various symptoms re poo -called cancer nurse and was booked in for colonoscopy-they had missed cancer on the right hand side so another op and similar removed-no stoma! So was pleased with that-went back 3 months later for colonoscopy by what I was told would be a more thorough one-they found and removed 9 polyps not cancerous phew-what did not help with the operation was that I had a stomach bypass 3 years previous-all OK at present

Mack6658 Hi Tom and a warm welcome to the board. Thanks for sharing your experience - it’s so important to do these poo samples and I tell people off if they say that someone has stuck theirs in a drawer to do later! You’ve been pretty unlucky to have 2 ops in such a short space of time but it sounds like your team is on the ball and hopefully you’ll be able to have regular colonoscopies to keep on top of things
Take care
