So I've posted a couple times regarding my sister. Finally after an anxious wait, she got all of the CT and MRI results today.
I can confirm that the waiting anxiety is worse than the actual knowing and having a treatment plan in place.
oncologist said he doesn’t think it has metastasised to other organs as CTs look clear. However there is a red flag regarding her womb that they need to investigate.
he isn’t clear if it’s invaded the womb which he said is an usual place for it to go, or if it’s just resting against it.
if it has then it’s a full hysterectomy before removing the bowel tumour. Obviously lymph nodes need checking as well and a stoma will be fitted after surgery. But overall… it doesn’t feel as much like a death sentence than it did 4 weeks ago.
makes sad that she can’t go on holiday in 10 weeks time but feeling a lot more positive now she’s clearer on what the plans are.
That all sounds pretty promising Budda84 It’s so easy to fear the worst but now there’s a plan in place it’s good to hear that things are feeling a little better. There’s lots of support on here for the stoma and I’m sure she’ll quickly get used to it.
Its a shame about the holiday but there’ll be plenty of time for that after all this is over
Take care
