Hi
I got results of my FIT TEST and it is positive at 14ug. Im shocked because i was having bleeding last year in november and the FIT test then was negative. I had a colon ct scan and sigmodiscopy and the results were fine except for very small piles at the entrance. So im shocked i now have a positive FIT Test when i no longer have bleeding. Please advise is it possible i have developed something even cancer in 3 months time? Do i need to do another colonscopy or endoscopy?
Hi Madie That’s a pretty low reading and bowel cancer is notoriously slow growing. The fact that you had clear tests in November is reassuring but the fit test has picked up on some blood in your stool. This could have come from internal piles or polyps or maybe something like ibs, colitis, diverticulitis etc.
The important thing is to get checked out and a colonoscopy would be the best way forward.
Take care and please let us know how you get on
