Strictures

Hello everyone this is my first post on here. My stomach issues go back about 5 years when I first noticed bloating when I ate. Since then I've had a colonoscopy Which resulted in diverticulitis which I was told it was nothing to worry too much about. This was about 2 years ago . I was on the list for a small bowel MRI which I had last month. I then spoke to the consultant who informed me that there's strictures in my bowel. I then received a letter a few days later saying I was on a 2 week wait for another colonoscopy which happens next week. I'm obviously concerned about what's happened and just want to know what's going on inside. Its a very confusing time I'm struggling in work with constant fatigue I've lost my appetite and have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. My only positive is there isn't a lot of blood present only a few smears the odd time. I would just like to know if anyone has had similar experiences like mine and if so what the outcome was. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this and Good luck.

  • Hello

I am Brian on of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have noticed your post has gone unanswered, I can't give you any answers myself as I have a different cancer, however by me replying your post will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope answered by other members of the Bowel cancer group.

I know you are struggling with this and the second colonoscopy (I have had 3 - I hate them!!) so please do call the Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) and they will be happy to offer you some extra support.

I wish you well moving forward.

    Best wishes - Brian.
