Bowel cancer and low carb

Hi all,

I have been diabetic for a few years (type ii).  I was then diagnosed with bowel cancer.  Removing the cancer got rid of my diabetes.

i have tried to go back to low carb eating several times since chemo ended but each time it upsets my tummy.

I do love to exercise and cook but the chemo knocked me for six and I’m generally exhausted so it’s tricky to do both in one day.

i had my latest CEA check and HbA1c check on Monday.  Today I received a call to say the diabetes was back, but I am now not allowed to follow low carb due to the increased risk of polyps and I can’t get an appointment for meds for 1.5 weeks.  Minutes later the mail arrived with a letter from the hospital saying a nurse would call me next Wednesday.  I am expecting the annual check but the scan isn’t happening until after this call.

Can anyone help? Is anyone else type ii and not allowed to follow low carb? If so how do you manage your diabetes? Also is it pretty standard to make the surveillance call before all the scans etc are complete?

having a minor freak out do any thoughts appreciated.
