Sciensus - anyone?

Hi,

This post may be considered unethical and may be removed.

Anyways.. I am going to start chemo next week, putting in my port tomorrow.

I had the opportunity to go private so I am doing it, at least I will be treated at home.

Thing is that the company doing it is Sciensus. I have just read their awful reviews on-line and now I am a bit concerned.

Has anyone on this forum dealt with them? Are they that bad?

Thanks!

Richard

  • Hi  I’ve no experience of this company and can’t find anything using the search box. I’ve also searched on the Bowel Cancer UK Board and this was the only post that came up?

  • Hi Karen,

Many thanks for looking them up.

Their feedback on google is terrible, they have four lawsuits against them.. But in another feedback site they don't look so bad.

    Will hope for the best,

    Take care,

    Richard

  • I used sciensus for my chemo. 6 rounds of Folfox. I found them absolutely brilliant. The Nurses I had were all lovely and made me feel very at ease. They will supply you with a phone number so you can speak to Oncology Nurses in between treatments if you have any concerns about side effects etc. I am very happy with the treatment I received from them.

  • Thanks Mighty,

    On something similar here.

I have started with them; they're not hiccup proof but I am very happy so far.

To be fair, the hiccups were more due to third parties rather than themselves. My luck is not that great (I guess this goes for everyone on these forums)  when it comes to beginnings. Things can only improve.

Thanks for the reply and I hope you're doing well.

  • Hey Rich,

I'm doing well thsnk you, 5 weeks post op from having both my tumours removed. I have a permanent colostomy now (previously a loop ileostomy due to my bowel blocking up) It's been a tough 7 months but the cancer is out and the surgeon is happy he got clear margins. On to tests/scans every few months and fingers crossed I stay cancer free! Good luck with your treatment.
