hi there
my Mother has stage 4 bowel ca wth liver and peritoneum mets. her CEA is 9ug/L, i understand it should be less that 5
I am not sure if 9 is a small rise or large one
Does anyone have any info with CEA
we are hoping HIPEC will be a possibility in the future
many thanks

Hi JoyLou
My mum had a stage 4 diagnosis and it was 7 . Highest it ever got to was 11 . That’s not a high number for a spread for sure .
Is your mum on treatment ?
With low CEA readings I read somewhere that it can be helpful to read the changes in percentages then you get a better feel for how it’s being affected .
Take care ,
