Peco offers negative pressure also known as rac.
Apparently it is supposed to help heal a wound by pulling it together. I’ve looked online and it looks like a normal dressing but with a battery operated electrical pulse. it’s about the size of an ipod and is detachable when showering as not waterproof. It fits into a pocket or on waistband so fully portable.
the dressing is then changed every 3 days.
Hi t24
I had a PICO dressing applied to my surgery site when I had a lumpectomy for breast cancer. Mine was on for a week.
Hi t24
My daughter in law had this following a c-section 18 months ago. I think the dressing was on for about a week. It felt a bit strange at first as it "pulsed" a bit every time she moved. She was told by the midwife that she could just remove it herself at the end of that period (which to be honest concerned her a wee bit, but needn't have) and the wound had healed beautifully.
