Saw my oncologist today and was told that there has been progression in both my lung and liver mets. She has said we need to change the chemotherapy.
Although I’ve known this was the likely path I can’t help being worried about the future.
Hi PolyKettle , I'm in a similar situation: lung mets are progressing and now a suspicious nodule on the liver. I'm starting on Avastin/Lonsurf in 10 days. I've ready quite a bit of scientific publications on the benefits of fasting in complement to chemo and used to fast for 72 hrs around each chemo earlier this year so I'm determined to try a longer fast as I start that new course of chemo whilst I feel fit and healthy.
Take care of yourself,
Cecile
Hi Cecile, thanks so much for your reply.
Lonsurf and Avastin is one of the options they are discussing for me next but as I’ve already had Avastin they need to check whether it would be effective given with the Lonsurf.
The oncologist has suggested a four week break as I’ve had so much chemo (49 cycles in all) so I will use that time to get myself as healthy as possible. I’m trying to take comfort from the fact that I don’t feel unwell apart from the normal after effects of chemo.
You take care too.
Janet
