Hello all,
My wife’s colonoscopy today, 16th September, revealed no cancer, no polyps but a single poop-filled diverticula. This is likely as a result of chronic, mild constipation and giving rise to the blood and positive, high FIT.
She had a FIT test reading of 400, so high and a source of enormous worry, especially as she was asymptomatic. She has always had a slow bowel – going only 3 times a week and small ping pong ball poops. It would seem that she needs to have even more fibre in her diet and increase her water intake. During the prep the week beforehand the following was experienced – related here for assistance to others:
The relief is enormous, however comes with the knowledge that others may not be in such a fortunate position. My heart goes out to you and your families and we wish you well on your journey. Please take comfort that a high FIT result does not automatically equal a positive cancer diagnosis. And please don’t let this subject be taboo – persuade everyone you can to use the test.
Best wishes and love to all. C
