My husband had a bad reaction to Folfox so they are suggesting he goes straight to surgery. Then think about clean up chemo afterwards.
Can you have surgery if you are stage 4?
I thought you had to shrink it before they could operate?
Thank you
Hi Beanie2024
My mum did ! He must be currently operable . They are inclined to. give chemo first to stabilise things but if he is currently operable and experiencing other issues they will formulate a plan that’s best for him .
If someone is inoperable sometimes going straight to chemo can sometimes allow shrinkage to the point they are then operable . Sounds as though this is not needed in your husbands case . That’s good news in the situation he finds himself in .
My mum had a lung tumour removed without chemo .
All the best for your husbands surgery .
