What does a pre assessment appointment involve?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what a pre assessment appointment is likely to involve?

My hubby is due to go for his tomorrow. He’s not really talking much about it, all I know is that it said Pre Assessment (Anaesthetics) in the heading of his appointment letter. Thanks.

Often ran by the nurses , they do a medical assessment , check the contact details and provide information on what to expect during the procedure.

It can take around half an hour . If any further investigations are needed they would report that .
