Good morning,
The oncologist phoned yesterday to inform me that I have low phosphate but they are still going ahead with round two today. Does the chemotherapy cause low phosphate or could it be an absorption issue? I have considered the fact it could have been from my iron infusion but it was ‘normal’ on my blood test which was taken 3 weeks post infusion.

Hi Rac
Everything takes a hit during chemo . The electrolytes are easily knocked off . Some treatments are know to strip certain electrolytes. Cetuximab favours magnesium . During chemo it was my mum’s potassium .
Each time they treated it orally to begin with . Are you getting any assistance with it ?
One other aspect , how are you with your hydration?
Take care ,
